How This Couple Left Their Corporate Careers to Pursue Franchise Ownership

For Valerie and Bill Harris, Real Property Management offered far more than a new career path.

Valerie’s interest in property management began long before she became a business owner. As a child, she watched her grandfather manage six or seven rental properties. He was a carpenter who took pride in caring for his tenants and working closely with local real estate professionals. Valerie often accompanied him and saw firsthand how he built relationships through honesty, communication, and dependable service.

That early exposure stayed with her and eventually influenced the direction she chose for her entrepreneurial career.

Before joining Real Property Management, they spent years working their way up in corporate America. Bill delivered millions of dollars in value to previous employers, but he always carried a desire to build something for himself and his family. In 2022, a large workforce reduction gave him the opportunity to rethink the future. With a severance package in hand, the couple decided it was time to pursue their long-term goal of owning a business.
