The biggest reason I chose Precision Garage Door Service was that it is part of Neighborly. I trust Neighborly as best in class for home services.
When you franchise, it can save you from a lot of mistakes. When you have a process document and support from other people, it streamlines everything
I have had so much support. It is incredible. My franchise business coach gives me great advice and sees things from a different perspective. Where I am weak, she is strong, and she helps me make good choices.
I finally got to be my own boss after 25 years, and it has had a big impact on my life.
After 25 years in corporate America, Dan Coday knew it was finally time to build something of his own.
He had always carried an entrepreneurial spirit and often acted like a business owner within the companies he served. But he wanted full control of his future, his schedule, and his impact. That clarity set him on the path to Precision Garage Door Service®.
Dan opened his franchise in October 2022, but the decision did not come lightly. Before joining, he spent about 40 hours doing focused due diligence to ensure this was the right opportunity. The more he learned, the more he felt aligned with the brand.
“The biggest reason I chose Precision Garage Door Service was that it is part of Neighborly®. I trust Neighborly as best in class for home services,” Dan explains. “The size of the existing franchise locations was also significantly larger than most home service franchises. It was something meaty that I could sink my teeth into.”
His wife was skeptical at first. Garage doors were not exactly the type of business she imagined her husband exploring. But once Dan understood the model, the support, and the potential, he felt confident that this was the next step he had been waiting for.
Over his long corporate career, Dan saw how often businesses struggled simply because they lacked systems. That is what made Precision Garage Door Service so appealing.
“When you franchise, it can save you from a lot of mistakes,” he says. “When you have a process document and support from other people, it streamlines everything.”
Dan immediately saw the value in the training, operational tools, and leadership guidance available to new owners. Whether he needed insight into a business decision or help navigating a challenge, someone was always ready to support him.
“I have had so much support. It is incredible. My franchise business coach gives me great advice and sees things from a different perspective. Where I am weak, she is strong, and she helps me make good choices.”
For Dan, one of the most rewarding parts of being a franchise owner has been the peer community. He felt welcomed from day one, even as the newest owner of the system.
“When I think about the other franchise owners, I am humbled. Some of them have been in the business 10, 15, even 20 years,” he says. “I was the new kid on the block, and they took me under their wing. They gave me resources, feedback, and support.”
What he found was a community where everyone rallies around one another, so the entire system can succeed. That sense of belonging inspired Dan to pay it forward.
“It gives you confidence and pride to be part of that family,” he says. “It makes me want to help new owners the same way others helped me.”
Joining Precision Garage Door Service changed Dan’s life. For the first time in decades, he feels in control of his work, his schedule, and his growth.
“I finally got to be my own boss after 25 years,” he says. “And it has had a big impact on my life.”
Dan’s story shows what is possible when dedication meets a proven model and a community that truly wants every owner to succeed.
