We wanted something turnkey, with strong branding and marketing already built in.

If we were on our own, we would not have access to resources. Corporate support has been huge.

We can talk to other franchisees, trade ideas, and get feedback whenever we need it. That system makes a big difference.

We are helping one family at a time, making outside fun again.

When this husband and wife duo decided to step away from the corporate world, they knew they wanted a business that offered structure, support, and a pathway toward the life they envisioned for their young family.

With a one year old daughter at home, safety mattered. That is what first led them to try Mosquito Joe® as customers. The results made the decision easy.

“We wanted something turnkey, with strong branding and marketing already built in,” they explain. “Once we tried Mosquito Joe for our own yard, we were happy we did. A few years later, we decided to buy the business, and we have not looked back.”

Owning their Mosquito Joe franchise has given them something they did not have before: flexibility. Time became one of their most valuable rewards. “I have been able to volunteer more at my daughter’s school,” she says. “It is nice to be relevant in her life as she grows.”

They also appreciate the accountability and motivation that come with business ownership. “What keeps us pushing every day is knowing the business either fails or excels because of us. That responsibility motivates us.”

Their hard work paid off in a major way. Craig and Michelle were named the 2024 Franchise Owners of the Year. “It was not even on our radar,” he admits. “We used to watch other owners walk across the stage and dreamed of doing that someday. To actually receive it feels amazing.”

They credit their achievement to the guidance of other successful owners, the strength of the franchise system, and their own determination to succeed.

The couple values the backing they receive from the corporate team. Access to expert entomologists, support for new service offerings, and a strong marketing engine help them stay competitive. “If we were on our own, we would not have access to those resources. Corporate support has been huge.”

They also rely on the strength of the broader franchise network. “We can talk to other franchisees, trade ideas, and get feedback whenever we need it. That system makes a big difference.”

Their staff plays a vital role in their success. Office team members are affectionately called “directors of first impressions,” because they are the first people customers speak with.

“They answer the phone every time, and customers tell them they have already made their day,” he says. “We train our technicians to be brilliant at the basics, and we would not be here without them.”

Whether sponsoring Little League teams, joining local parades, or treating pools and church grounds so families can enjoy time outside, they are committed to giving back.

“We are helping one family at a time, making outside fun again.”
