I am proud that we have built this business together and that we are truly having fun doing it.
He (Scott) is the happiest he has ever been, and says he wishes he had done it 25 years earlier.
Molly Maid has given us the flexibility to show up for the moments that matter with our kids and grandkids.
For Scott and Janet Sims, Molly Maid became the beginning of a new adventure.
They are the owners of Molly Maid of Irvine and Saddleback Valley and Molly Maid® of Temecula Valley, and their journey has been both fulfilling and award-winning. In 2025, they were honored as the Molly Maid Franchise Owners of the Year, a recognition that reflected their hard work, strong culture, and commitment to their team and community.
Scott came from a long career in engineering and product development, while Janet spent more than 30 years teaching preschool and operating her own school. When Scott began looking for his next chapter, he shared the idea of owning a Molly Maid franchise with Janet.
Today, the Sims team includes about 65 employees, with most serving clients directly as home service professionals. Janet and Scott also have an office team of seven and a beloved office dog, Toby.
Culture has always been central to how they run their business. They want their workplace to be fun, welcoming, and motivating. They also created a special tradition called Customer of the Month. Team members nominate customers they love working with, and the selected customer receives a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note from Janet. It is a simple gesture that reinforces appreciation from both sides.
Serving customers is at the heart of their work. They take pride in knowing their team can bring joy, peace, and comfort into a client’s home. They want customers to truly feel how valued they are. This care extends into the community as well.
Scott and Janet are active supporters of the Miss Molly Foundation and work closely with the organization that benefits their local area. They spend time listening, learning, and finding ways to contribute beyond writing a check.
Owning their Molly Maid franchise has also given Scott and Janet more time with their family, which includes four children and nine grandchildren. They cherish trips to Lake Powell in southern Utah, where they gather each year on their houseboat.
Scott and Janet are grateful for the chance to build something meaningful together. They are especially proud of the opportunities they have created for their employees, including a retirement program that has helped many begin saving for the first time.
When future candidates ask for their advice, Janet shares what Scott often says. He wishes he had started 25 years earlier. He is the happiest he has ever been, and he would choose this path again without hesitation.
